Martha Siegel - Cello Teacher in Brooklyn, NY

I am a cello teacher in Brooklyn, NY, and I work out of my Park Slope studio "Martha's Music Studio" and at the United Nations International School-Queens. Every summer, I teach strings and chamber music at Camp Common Ground in Starksboro, VT. I also teach for Musika, an organization that matches up music teachers and students through the internet.

As a performing cellist, I work in many chamber groups and direct my own, Brooklyn Brandenburgers, along with other string quartets and small ensembles. I am a principal cellist for the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra.

From 1976 to 1997, I performed, toured, and recorded with Argentine singer/songwriter Suni Paz and with Calle Strada Strasse, a trio with English concertina, mandolin, and cello. All told, I have played cello on 23 albums! (See Discography)

As a cello teacher, I strongly believe in the connection between music and community. To this end, I have produced numerous children's concerts, chamber music concerts, and music festivals in Park Slope for organizations ranging from local schools to the Park Slope Food Coop. My group, Brooklyn Brandenburgers, performs every December at the Old Stone House.

I’d be honored to become your cello teacher. Call now, and let’s schedule your lessons!
