Learn to Play Cello in Brooklyn, NY, from a Professional
Play with confidence at Martha's Music Studio. I help students learn to play cello in Brooklyn, NY, with a focus on excelling through personalized attention from a highly experienced teacher. I work out of my Park Slope location, as well as through the United Nations International School-Queens. In addition, I teach strings and chamber music each summer at Camp Common Ground in Starksboro, VT, and for Musika, an organization that matches up music teachers and students through the internet.
No matter where my lessons take place, I bring a passion for music and student growth to each session. Whether you’re interested in learning to play string instruments professionally or just looking for an engaging and rewarding hobby, I proudly share the wealth of knowledge I’ve acquired through experiences like:
- Performing Regularly in Chamber Groups
- Directing My Own Group, Brooklyn Brandenburgers
- Working as Principal Cellist for the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra
- Touring and Recording with Argentine singer/songwriter Suni Paz and with Calle Strada Strasse
Putting Experience to Work in the Community
All told, I have played on 23 albums across decades of professional cello work. Throughout my career, I’ve seen the impact that music has on communities all around the world. In addition to supporting the next generation of cello players through accessible lessons, I also serve as a frequent music festival producer for:
- Children’s Concerts
- Chamber Music Concerts
- Community Gatherings
Working with organizations ranging from local schools to the Park Slope Food Coop and performing with my group every December at the Old Stone House, I remain engaged in spreading music throughout the community. Get in touch with me today to schedule a lesson or learn more about my production work.
